KayDay featured on The Empire Squad vol.1 & 2

KayDay joins a group of handpicked, determined, and talented underground hip hop artists from all over the world for the compilation mixtape The Empire Squad. On Halloween of 2017 his single Blackout (as-well as 2 other songs) appeared on the mixtape serie's first issue alongside Cryptic Wisdom, 1Hunnit00 Money Jones, Red Pill, & Beware among others.
After being well received (mainly in the Midwest and New York) the mixtape series returned on Christmas Eve with The Empire Squad 2 which saw KayDay return as well as many others from the first mixtape. Initially this mixtape gained notoriety for featuring brand new music from viral icon Tekashi 6ix 9ine.

for Victory

VICTORY! On October 15th, 2017 California rapper Ty B (known for his Diary of a Madman mixtape series) released a new inspiring themed single entitled Victory featuring KayDay. The two longtime collaborators first appeared together on 2010's Brash Off: The Launch Off; the first release from KayDay's then newly created record label which Ty B helped co-run from 2010-2011. While the single doesn't have a official home yet as far as official releases (albums, EP's, mixtapes) go, its nice to have a hip hip song in this era that leans towards something positive and is packed full of collaborative chemistry.

New collaboration compilation The Empire Squad vol.1

Since early July 2017, I've been working with a handful of close associates on a collaborative compilation called
The Empire Squad vol. 1 (TES1). This mixtape waa originally conceived with the idea of featuring hip hop artists from all over the world, initially billed as a worldwide collaboration compilation. As time went by and more submissions came through we decided that we would have TES1 stand as a precedent for quality and motivation for Hip Hops underground, meaning this mixtape would draw a line between artists that take their craft seriously and those following a fad. Among the 22 tracks featured are artists: KayDay, 1Hunnit00 Money Jone$, Cryptic Wisdom,  Chico Daman, Red Pill, Unanimus, Ray Martin, Beware, Alkeyman, Price Lyfe, Zee Gudda, Santa RM, Ty B, Bad
Kimoe, & Cool African. Everyone appearing on TES1 has strived to make a name for themselves with time proving their clearly not just following a fad but feel it's their god given skill and purpose. To give anticipators a taste of what TES1 will bring, we released two party mixes (The Empire Squad Mix #1 and #2) each containing four of the compilations most highlighted songs

The Art of the Comeback (release date & tracklist)

On the 30th, the last Saturday of September I'll be releasing my debut under the name of KayDay though this is far from my first project. From 2008-2015 I recorded as K.A. working on dozens of projects with various artists including hip hop group Theory:101 and record label Brash Off Records as well as over 7 solo albums. Throughout July, August and September three singles from the album were released. Catching a fair amount of local attention in Detroit was the Tony Fadd produced club smash "Blackout". Containing 8 tracks and a feature from Canadian rapper S-ka Paid, The Art of the Comeback will be exclusively available only on Bandcamp.com for the first 24 hours. You can checkout the tracklist below.

2nd Single from "The Art of the Comeback" EP

On August 9th, I dropped the second single to my new EP entitled Like A G.
To me this song completes the new project because it embodies a key component of whats embedded in my style and soul: Lyricism, Rawness, & Confidence. This is a rare instance where I use a consistent melody throughout an entire verse. What I took from the reviews I've snagged so far, this won't be the last time I use a melodic flow.
You can check out Like A G here on my official SoundCloud page.

KayDay Vision "TV made for hip hop heads and comedy lovers"!

I have been known to try my hand at many things because I believe you learn by doing. I've hosted and ran a few street mixtape series, I presented the news with Brash Off monthly, was a DJ and host on a few different radio shows, now I venture into the world of TV broadcasting with KayDay Vision. On Thursday August 3rd we launched with our first program being Eminem live in Montreal and the next program was Kevin Hart in his stand-up special Seriously Funny. This is the kind of variety pride ourselves on. This network has a little bit of everything for everyone, but our target audience are hip-hop fanatics and comedy enthusiast. The title for my upcoming EP

During the entirety of my music career the easiest part of the album making process has been coming up with the title. This time around is the exact opposite. Working on this EP I've spent days going thru different titles without coming to one I was completely satisfied with. I believe the reason it's so difficult is because this project has a deep meaning behind. This EP symbolizes my return to my #1 passion, music so the title has to reflect that. And then one day it hit me
"The Art of the Comeback", that title wraps up the vibe of this project. Checkout the cover art.

My new single,BLACKOUT!

It's August 1st, summers starting to wind down, people are preparing to go back to school, returning back to work and one rapper is preparing for his comeback EP. The first track you can get from my upcoming project is the partying hard influenced Tony Fadd cut "Blackout".
Show some Detroit City love and check it out.

I Am KayDay

My name is KayDay formerly K.A. of Brash Off Records, Mean Muggin Records, & Detroit hip hop group Theory: 101. After the disbanding of Brash Off in 2014 I began a three year hiatus, only releasing a handful of songs. This July (2017) all I could think about was being in the studio recording, that feeling you get when you drop some dope material and people love it. So my new project I'm working on is an EP focusing on my coming back to music and everything I been through since I left.
